Cleaning your car's interior is a bit of a task but with the right procedure and right tools, it can be done much easier. Moreover, you can also save yourself a lot of money by doing it yourself.

So, here's what you will need before starting to clean the interior of your car, starting with some microfiber cloth, stiff bristle brush, bucket, spray bottle, Vaccum cleaner, detailing brush, duster, ammonia-free window cleaner, alcohol-based glass cleaner, and disinfecting wipes.

Take out all the trash from your car and remove the floor mats. Now, shake the mat to remove any loose dirt and you can either vacuum clean it or use carpet cleaner and a brush to deep clean the floor mat.

If you are using a rubber mat, you can simply use any liquid sop and old microfiber cloth to clean it. Moreover, stains on rubber mats are easier to clean.

The next step is to vacuum the interior completely. Any loose dirt inside the car can be easily removed by this process. Also, you can use brushes to loosen the dirt sticking to the carpet or interior trim, this way the vacuum cleaner can easily remove this sort of dirt.

It is also worth mentioning that the dirt around the corner can also be removed up to an extent by using a detailing brush to loosen the dirt before vacuuming.

If the dirt on the edges and small crevices are hard to reach, you can use a microfiber cloth, detailing brushes, and ammonia-free cleaning liquids to remove this dirt. However, this step is not necessary unless you want your car's interior to be nearly as good as new.

The next step is to clean the car's glasses from the inside. For this, you can use an alcohol-based glass cleaner. Moreover, it is necessary to use a clean microfiber cloth for this step. To clean the glass, first, apply some alcohol-based cleaner on the microfiber cloth and wipe it on the glass. After this, use the cleaner side of the microfiber cloth and wipe clean the glass.

Now, apply a layer of disinfectant on all surfaces using the disinfecting wipes. This process will not only kill all the germs and bacteria, but it will also prevent the growth of these up to a certain extent.

You can now use a new car air freshener to keep your car interior smell pleasant. Also, this step will also help overcome the smell of liquid soap and alcohol-based cleaner.

Following the above steps can make your car interior clean throughout the lifecycle of your car. Moreover, it is difficult to say how often you should clean your car's interior as it depends on usage and climate. However, it is recommended to clean your car's interior at least twice every year.
