From its buzzy coffee makers and powerful immersion blenders to its reliable hand blenders and impressive ice cream makers, it's no secret Breville has been a leading small appliance maker for decades. In fact, its popular Smart Oven Pro is one of our favorite air fryers on the market due to its 13 versatile functions, oven-like capabilities, and large interior that can air fry everything from pizza to poultry. Now, the brand has upgraded our splurge pick with even smarter features: Meet the Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro.

Breville's newest appliance is its first smart connected oven, according to the brand. It pairs with the Joule Oven smartphone App to offer several features, including guided cooking assistance, an Autopilot mode, and voice-activated control with Amazon Alexa and Google home devices.

What captured our attention is the device's Autopilot function, which takes over cooking a recipe without lifting a finger. Working with Breville's Element IQ heating system, it uses algorithms to deliver exact and even temperatures and adjusts for different recipe steps. You can follow the whole process from start to finish on the app, which will even notify you when your items are ready. What's more, Breville also teamed up with its subdivision ChefSteps to preload the Joule app with over 100 chef-guided recipes and programs to get the cooking juices flowing. And in the future, the app will feature even more recipes from publications like America's Test Kitchen.

While its connected app is a major development, the Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro features many of the same functions as the brand's Smart Oven air fryer. It has an easy-to-read LED screen that displays temperature and cooking time, as well as 13 presets for toasting, baking pizza, and dehydrating at the touch of a button. Plus, both have the same temperature range of 80 to 480 degrees Fahrenheit and feature a large interior capacity. The Joule can accommodate up to nine slices of bread at once or a 14-pound turkey for large gatherings, making it a better choice for spacious kitchen countertops.

What's more, this stainless steel appliance comes with a host of cool accessories. There's a 13-inch nonstick pizza pan, two 9-by-12 roasting and broiling racks, an air frying basket, and two-wire racks that can be positioned in eight different ways. You'll be able to dehydrate fruit, toast bagels, air fry frozen goods, and bake fresh cookies from scratch without needing another appliance.

The Breville Joule Oven Air Fryer Pro ranges in price from $500 to $550, depending on whether you opt for black or stainless steel. Yes, it's a splurge, but there's no doubt you'll get your money's worth with this high-end appliance. Head to Williams Sonoma now to check it out.
